MILLBROOK, Ala. - Head coach Hunter Adams and his Stanhope Elmore Mustangs are ecstatic for their first game in Foshee-Henderson Stadium for the 2023 season following last week’s 42-13 rout of the Shades Valley Mounties last week.
Coach Adams was hyped up from last week’s defensive performance, and expects another great performance from his team on Friday night.
“I’m looking for another big defensive performance,” said Adams. “The offense to continue to play clean football. Protect the ball. Control the tempo, control the time of possession. Complementary football is big man, if we can play complementary football in all three phases, another big win tonight.”
“Gotta have the mindset as last game,” said Senior defensive end Thomas Williams III after holding the Mounties to only 127 yards last week.
Adams spoke to the student body for the first pep rally of the season, and FIRED UP every student in the gym.
“It’s perfect having him as the man, he’s been a leader when he was the defensive coordinator, he’s still doing the same thing,” said Williams. “We just have that mentality, like he said, so we can come out with a win tonight.”
Principal Ewell Fuller was also excited to see the hype surrounding the first home game of the season.
“We are SE. We win. JS.” said Fuller.
Stanhope Elmore will take on the Eufaula Tigers in Foshee-Henderson Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Friday night.
