Sandburg Middle School Student-Led Conferences

Student-led conferences allow students to show and define their learning through an interactive conference with the student, parent and teacher. Students take ownership of learning by sharing their goals, explaining their strengths, and observing areas in which they want to continue growing. This format provides all three stakeholders with the opportunity to meet and celebrate learning. This ties in our with Sandburg Middle School's school improvement plan of engaging students in learning, as well as being an area of focus outlined in Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205's Moral Imperative.

This site provides the opportunity to learn more about the research around student-led conferences, Principal Linda Fehrenbacher's communication timeline for Sandburg Middle School's 2016 Conferences, post conference survey results, as well as some comments from staff after the conferences were completed in October.
