Introduction
When: August 29: 5A and 5B; September 2: 5C and 5D
We will get to know each other and the classroom expectations through a flipbook.
Lesson 1:
When: September 6: 5A and 5B; September 12: 5C and 5D
Setting goals is a skill that students need to be able to use in order to break down what they want to achieve into steps. We will complete an activity where we pick a goal, decide why they think that goal is important, and break that goal down into specific, challenging, doable, and motivating steps.
** We can identify a personal goal and why it's right for us. **
Lesson 2:
When: September 13: 5A and 5B; September 19: 5C and 5D
We set goals last time, today we will make a plan to reach that goal. We will use example goals to practice breaking a goal down into steps and making a plan to reach it. Then, we will use our skills to break our goals down into steps and create a plan to reach those steps.
** We can make an effective plan to reach a personal goal, including a way to track our progress. **
Lesson 3:
When: September 20: 5A and 5B; September 26: 5C and 5D
We will use the practice goals to practice evaluating progress toward a goal, looking at obstacles, and making adjustments to the plan. We will then use our skills to identify the progress we have made toward our goals and make adjustments if we need to.
** We can evaluate their progress towards a personal goal so they can adjust our plan if needed.**
