We know that you want to ensure that your child has a successful 3rd grade year.
Some ways you can help at home:
Make sure that your child has a comfortable and quiet place to read at home. If you can't find 20 minutes at home on a given day, keep reading material in your vehicle so they can read in the car or while waiting for practice, etc. Ask open-ended questions about what they are reading.
Model being a reader by reading in front of your child on a regular basis.
Make sure your child is doing their homework.
Pediatricians recommend between 9-11 hours of sleep per night for school-aged children.
Establish a bedtime routine.
