Foundational Aviation Skills Training (FAST) - Private Pilot Ground School

FAST – Private Pilot Ground School Stream is a 4-week program created for individuals interested in beginning their journey as a pilot. Delivered in partnership with the Edmonton Flying Club, this program provides over 80 hours of Private Pilot Ground School along with mentorship and foundational flight training to prepare participants for success in aviation.

Graduates of the FAST – Private Pilot Ground School Stream complete the required ground school components for a Private Pilot Licence, earn key aviation certifications, and gain both classroom and introductory flight training experience.

  • Canadian Aviation Regulations

  • Aerodynamics and Theory of Flight

  • Licensing Requirements

  • Human Factors, including Pilot Decision-Making

• Certifications and Training:

  • Restricted Operator Certificate – Aeronautical (ROC-A)

  • Pre-Solo Test of Air Regulations (PSTAR)

  • Five hours of Ground Briefing

  • Five hours of Flight Time

• Guest speakers and industry mentorship

• Workplace essential skills development such as communication, adaptability, and problem-solving
