Coach Pruitt

Coach Pruitt is in his 3rd year as an assistant coach at Elbert County High School, and his 8th year as a wrestling coach at the high school level. He also has a few seasons of volunteer coaching experience during college and student teaching experiences. Coach Pruitt has had the opportunity to volunteer at South Forsyth Middle School, Carrollton City High School, and Commerce City Schools USA program. He has been an official assistant at Dawson County High school (1 year) East Jackson High School (1 year) and Elbert County for 3 seasons. Coach Pruitt also severed as the Head Coach for East Jackson high school wrestling for 3 years before coming to Elbert County.

Coach Pruitt began wrestling as a sophomore at Forsyth Central High School after he was cut from the J.V. basketball team. He was an area placer his first year, as well as qualifying for state and finishing in the top 16. Coach Pruitt's high school team finished 6th and 8th at State Duels his Junior and Senior years in 5A (today would be 7A) classification. Coach Pruitt was injured the Tuesday before individual area as a sophomore and was not able to participate in the Area tournament. He also failed to qualify as a senior, finishing in 5th place at area.

Coach Pruitt is also the Head Middle School tennis coach for Elbert County Middle School. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to coach several different sports, including track and field at Dawson County and East Jackson, as well as Fastpitch softball at East Jackson.

Coach Pruitt is married to his beautiful wife Rosie. They met while he was coaching at East Jackson and she was the athletic trainer for the school. They said "I do" on May 24, 2015. Rosie will be graduating from Emory University in December of 2018 as a Physician Assistant. They have a dog named Stanley who is their baby.
