Coach Anderson

Shane Anderson, who enters his 11th year on the Elbert County wrestling staff, is in his 10th year as the head coach. Coach Anderson also spent two years as an assistant coach at Clarke Central High School, in Athens, before coming back home to Elbert County.

Over the last 9 seasons, Coach Anderson has helped produce 8 state champions and 13 state runner-ups for a total of 46 top-six state placers at the GHSA State Championships. Coach Anderson has helped guide the Blue Devils to nine top-ten team finishes at the state tournament including 5 top-five finishes, a 2012 AA 4th place State Dual finish, a 2014 AA 3rd place State Traditional finish, a 2017 AA State Runner-up finish, a 2019 AA State Runner-up Dual finish, and a 2019 AA State Runner-up Traditional finish.

Coach Anderson graduated from Elbert County High School in 2003. He then received his Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Georgia in 2007. In 2010, he received a Master's degree in Education from the University of Georgia. In 2013, he received his Education Specialist from Valdosta State University.

Coach Anderson currently teaches Math at ECCHS.

Coach Anderson and his wife, Callie, have a daughter Chandler and a son Cael.
