The word Ekya is derived from the Sanskrit sounds of unity and individuality. Ekya School JP Nagar, Ekya School BTM Layout, Ekya School ITPL, Ekya School Byrathi and Ekya School NICE Road were instituted with one aim – to teach children not just what to learn, but how to learn.

Aryaman in Sanskrit: अर्यमन is one of the early Vedic names which means Companion.

Giving back to our community is at the heart of Ekya’s Service Learning Program. It comes from the belief that together we can make a difference.

ARYAMAN is Ekya School’s annual initiative to connect all our companions to come together to make Bengaluru a cleaner, greener and healthier place through multiple projects such as lake development, reforestation, conservation etc. 

ARYAMAN 2023 focuses on increasing the green cover of South Bengaluru through lake revival and development. It is coming together of children, families, friends, neighbours and the Ekya alumni to connect over a nice, warm Sunday morning run to help power small but significant changes to Namma Bengaluru.

The Run starts at the heart of the city – takes runners through the prime areas of Madiwala Lake, BTM Layout, JP Nagar via Bannerghatta Road. While runners run through the winding roads of South Bangalore, for which it is famous, it allows them to see popular landmarks with a fresh lens. We ensure to free up the ever-crowded streets exclusively for runners to breathe fresh air and get their best timing. (The routes can be viewed in detail here).

The goal of this event is not just to run but to provide an opportunity to unwind and have fun with family and friends. Therefore, we ensure that there are support stations every 500 meters and our cheerleading student volunteers throughout the route to keep the runners' morale up.
