Shackled to his 9-5, a narrow-minded man is tortured by mysterious forces in his cubicle while trying to complete his daily office duties.
Life in the Real World is a short film by film students at Emerson College produced through Emerson Independent Video.
Students Chester Deorocki(director), Julia Giordano(producer), Samuel Barbagallo(writer), Katie Collazos(producer), and Aadi Sinha(producer) collaborated with a mission is to tell a story that captures the quiet chaos of modern work culture. A culture that wears you down not with fire, but with fluorescent lights, unread emails, and the slow erosion of purpose. Through surreal visuals, dark humor, and grounded performances, we aim to explore the psychological toll of a system built for efficiency, not humanity.
This film is for anyone who’s ever sat at a desk and wondered: "Is this really it?"
Even in the most numbing environments, the desire to break free never fully dies. We made this film for anyone who has ever felt complacent, as we step off and try to make creative careers for ourselves.
