Readers Workshop and Socratic Novel Study

Using Lucy Culkins readers workshop method students will learn how to critically think about what they are reading through drawing conclusions, making anecdotal notes, asking and formulating questions, and journaling.

Through the Socratic novel study method students will engage in groups discussions around novels that have been leveled to their unique reading ability and interest.

English Language Arts has been designed around themes. Within each theme students are exposed to different types of literature such as memoirs, poetry, fiction and non-fiction texts, informational texts, art pieces, cartoons, film,etc.
