Hello, I'm Victor Jaton, originally from Lausanne, and I graduated from EHL in 2017.
I embarked on a journey with EHLsmile six months after completing my graduation. I was part of the team responsible for the pre-opening and launch of the Bodhgaya Project in India, where I spent 6 months. After that, I took on another assignment in Nepal, which also lasted six months. I mostly decided to go volunteering for EHLsmile for having new adventures and discovering the unknown
The Bodhgaya Hotel School in Bihar, India uniquely integrates hospitality and social impact by training unemployed youth for the hotel industry. Bodhgaya holds significant importance in Buddhism as it is the sacred site where Buddha attained enlightenment. Similar to the Bodhgaya Hotel School, the ROKPA vocational training center offers a one-year vocational training program in hospitality, combining theory and practical experience at their Guest House, restaurant, and bakery. This program is also in collaboration with the GATE College in Nepal. A typical day in either location involved significant efforts in recruiting and training industry professionals for facilitation. Another crucial aspect was the recruitment of students. Additionally, there was a focus on overseeing construction work, procuring materials and furnishings, and ensuring the hotel was operational for both clients and students!
