The School
The Abury Hospitality Academy is a comprehensive 6 to 12-month empowerment and training program in Marrakech, Morocco. Designed for young women aged 18 to 25, the program aims to foster self-reliance by equipping participants with both professional and life skills. In response to the socio-economic challenges and cultural norms that limit women’s opportunities—such as high rates of child marriage and female unemployment—the academy offers a pathway to independence through education. The curriculum includes hospitality management training, practical skills in culinary arts, housekeeping, service, and hygiene, alongside essential soft skills like communication, leadership, and critical thinking. Basic computer literacy and language training in English and/or French are also provided. Upon completion, graduates receive support in securing employment in Marrakech’s thriving hospitality industry, addressing both the region’s skills gap and the participants’ need for sustainable livelihoods.
