An AVID Demonstration school is a model of AVID implementation and a center of teaching and learning. When you are an AVID demonstration school, you are exhibiting a strong system of college and career readiness while effectively infusing AVID methodologies and WICOR strategies. Your school demonstrates quality AVID implementation in the Elective and with schoolwide AVID supports.

AVID IS A SIGNIFICANT PROGRAM AT YOUR SITE: To be a demonstration school, your site must demonstrate how AVID is a cornerstone schoolwide system and a catalyst for schoolwide change with evidence of AVID schoolwide impact across the campus
BE A LEADING SCHOOL: Maintain an active leadership role in the district, region, and state in conjunction with AVID Center
AVID ELECTIVE AS A MODEL: Use AVID Elective classes as the model of college and career readiness in the school through quality implementation of AVID curriculum and strategies such as Tutorials
SITE TEAM IS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE: Create a highly effective and active Site Team with administrative involvement
CCI AS A PROCESS OF IMPROVEMENT: In this position, a demo school will demonstrate that the AVID Coaching and Certification process promotes a cycle of continuous improvement
HOST VISITORS: Demonstration schools should host visitors to see AVID in action and learn how AVID works at their site/district
REVALIDATE: It doesn't end after you receive the recognition. A demonstration school should maintain Criteria and Guidelines and engage in the revalidation process every three to four years
