Middle school teacher


I'm currently a teacher at Central Middle School.


I have also been a:

*High school English teacher at the Senior High in EGF and the Twin Cities area.

*Participant in the Red River Valley Writing Project, which is part of the National Writing Project. This program “focuses the knowledge, expertise, and leadership of our nation’s educators on sustained efforts to improve writing and learning for all learners.”

*Participant in the American Society of Newspaper Editors Summer Institute as a fellow at Winthrop University in South Carolina.

*Head Speech team coach for 13 years, and a National Forensic League diamond coach. I was fortunate to work with many winning students and teams. In 2013 and 2014, our Speech teams won the Section 8A tournament. 2013 was the first year Senior High had ever won the Section title, and it was wonderful to repeat that victory in 2014.


Degrees and Certifications:

* B.A. - UND. Majors in English, Honors (an inter-disciplinary program), and Secondary Education, and a minor in Communication with a speech emphasis

* Exchange student at the University of Sunderland, Sunderland, England

* M.S. Ed. in Teaching and Learning - St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota

* M.A. in English - have completed 15 credits towards this degree - NDSU; 4 credits at UND
