I am Mir Uzair Kanth, a Prime Minister's Research Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in Power System Protection at IIT Roorkee (CGPA: 9.2). My research focuses on enhancing the reliability, adaptability, and resilience of hybrid AC/DC microgrids through intelligent protection and control frameworks. I specialize in developing advanced solutions for fault detection, classification, and isolation, while integrating signal processing and data-driven methods to address cybersecurity challenges.
I hold an M.Tech from the National Institute of Technology Srinagar (CGPA: 8.5) and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Baba Ghulam Shah University, Jammu. Prior to my doctoral studies, I served as an Assistant Professor at the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Jammu and Kashmir (2016-2019), where I taught core courses and supervised laboratory work.
My research contributions include publications in IEEE Transactions journals and conference proceedings, presentations at international conferences, and Indian patents for innovative microgrid protection methods. I am proficient in MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, RSCAD, PSS/E, PSS/SINCAL, ETAP, RTDS, and dSPACE, with hands-on experience in developing scaled-down hybrid microgrid systems.
