After earning my bachelor's degree in Social Studies and Secondary Education from Brescia University in May 2005, I started my teaching career that fall at Owensboro High School. In 2010, I became the Social Studies Digital Curriculum Developer for the OPS district as part of the larger Digital Initiative. I served in that role for three years before the initiative ended; my team then created the 6th Grade "Masterminds" team at Owensboro Middle School-South Campus. After teaching at OMS and serving as the team leader there, I joined Heritage Park High School in 2016 and led the junior team, where I taught US History, Government, and Economics. While at Daviess County Public Schools, I served on the district Technology Advisory Committee. I also served on the HPHS Youth Service Center Advisory Committee. In 2021, I was honored to serve as one of Kentucky's GoTeachKY Teacher Ambassadors.
I earned my Ed.S. and principal certification eligibility in August 2019 and completed my doctoral degree from the University of the Cumberlands in May 2022. I served as Hancock County High School's Assistant Principal from 2021-2023 before moving to the board office as the district's Director of Grant Development, Food Service, and Student Support.
My wife and I have three children: Madeline, Maverick, & Everett. I love writing, traveling with my family, and cheering on the Chicago Bears. We have resided in Daviess County, Kentucky, since 2009.
