Success Criteria:
I am able to define potential difference (voltage) as the energy transferred per unit charge between two points in an electric field (or terminals).
I am able to explain the relationship between potential difference, charge, and work done.
I am able to calculate the power used by an appliance.
Fun Fact
Did you know that the term "voltage" actually originated from the Italian physicist Alessandro Volta, who invented the first electric battery in 1800? The unit of potential difference, the volt (V), is named in his honor. So every time we talk about voltage or potential difference, we're giving a nod to Volta's pioneering work in the field of electricity!
