KEY KNOWLEDGE
graphically analyse non-uniform motion in a straight line
OUTCOME
By the end of this lesson you will understand the difference between average and instantaneous velocity and acceleration and use a graph to determine them
The average velocity is found by the change in position over the time taken, the average acceleration is found by the change in velocity over time taken. The instantaneous values are found using the gradient of the position time graph (velocity) and the velocity time graph (acceleration)

Make sure you can answer these questions
What is the difference between speed and velocity
1. What is average acceleration?
2. How do you find average velocity and acceleration from a graph?
3. How do you find instantaneous velocity and acceleration?
