Dear Parents and Carers,
As Term 1 draws to a close, we look back and are grateful for the way in which our students have so capably and confidently adapted to a new school year.
A shorter Term means usually means packing a lot in so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at EPS for working so diligently to teach, support and provide wonderful experiences for our students.
A number of events have taken place over the course of the Term. We recently conducted our whole school Athletics Carnival, a wonderful and successful day that saw all students across the school competing in a range of events. Congratulations to all students but in particular, those members of Goodes or Yellow House for accumulating the most points on the day.
It was also wonderful to be able to celebrate our Prep students as they marked the end of their first term at school. Earlier today, they participated in their first Easter Hat Parade and soaked up the applause and admiration of their peers and the broader community. Thank you to all of the parents who attended to help as mark the occasion.
Term 2 will bring a number of opportunities and challenges. Firstly, please note that I will be in leave for the first 6 weeks of Term. Linh will very capably step up as Acting Principal during this time. Secondly, work will commence on plans to bring Air Conditioning to the school. This project will remain a fixture of the school for the remainder of the year, with works due to be completed in December.
Outside of these structural concerns, we now pivot to getting ready for what will be an incredibly busy Term 2, including School Photos, Year 5/6 Camp and student reports amongst a raft of other events and initiatives. In doing so, I’d encourage all of our families to enjoy the Term 1 holidays and look forward to seeing all of our students and staff refreshed for Term 2.
Sincerely,
Phillip Coloca
Principal
