1.  Recap the structure of DNA - Draw out a labelled diagram in your book.

2.  Explain the relationship between DNA and genes.

3.  Complete a glossary defining the following key words: DNA, Nucleic acid, nucleotide, gene, genome, allele, locus, inheritance, phenotype, haploid, diploid

Part 2: Chromosomes and Karyotype

1. Watch this clip about the structure of a chromosome.

2. Draw and label a picture in your book including the following; histone, nucleosome, chromatid, centromere

Part 3: Karyotyping

1. Read the 7A - Karyotyping PowerPoint

2. You will evaluate 3 patients' case histories, complete their karyotypes, and diagnose any missing or extra chromosome.
