‘Jacksons Landing - The Haven on the Harbour’

Comments from residents about living in Jacksons landing

Man 1 - I think the best thing about Jacksons Landing is the convenience to the City apart from anything else.

Woman 1 - I have been living here now for 10 ½ years right from the beginning and it has just been wonderful the way the community has developed.

Woman 2- It is right on the water and it is really fantastic.

Man 2 - I love that it is on the harbour and also that it is a quiet area and that there is no through traffic, but at the same time there is the new and old, so I think there is a wonderful mix.

Woman 3 - I mean it is obviously the oldest part of Sydney, but there is just this wonderful sense of history and community and the proximity to the City, we are moving to a different stage of life and this sort of delivers on everything that we want to be close to the City yet be by the water.

Man 3 - Walsh Bay the history of Pyrmont as well, all of those sorts of things. We have been living in the suburbs for a long time and we have always wanted to get closer to restaurants and the heart of the City, so we think it is terrific.

Woman 4 - It feels not suburban but still quite residential, it is not too noisy and it is compact.

Man 4 - You have the other amenities close by, there is to Fish Markets, you have restaurants and cafes.

Woman 5 - Beautiful views like this, walks around the Bay, I think it is fantastic.

Woman 4 - You can catch the light rail to Leichhardt, you're just there to get over the Harbour Bridge,and the Anzac Bridge, it is just there, so that is really great.

Man 5 - I chose to buy in the Jacksons Landing on impulse, we saw it at very early stages of Jacksons Landing the opportunity, we came very week to watch the apartments being built and I decided that better than letting someone else live in a investment property, I would come and live here myself.

Woman 2 - Pure Impulse.

Man 2 - My children have now moved out of home, so we are empty nesters, we wanted to move somewhere that would be central to the City but also to be able to lock up and travel.

Woman 4 - I have been living here for 5 years and I came here after I was living overseas and since I have been here I have never wanted to move away.

Woman 1 - It has a lot of activities which are community generated from Aqua Aerobics to the choir to fundraisers, monthly dinners, morning teas, bridge anything you like to name, we have sort of built this community in spirit together.

Man 1 - There is a fantastic community here and just look at what has happened to Jacksons Landing since Lend Lease took it over.

Woman 4 - There are dogs and dog walking groups, there are a lot of things at the station you can do, you can sing, you can be a part of a quilting group, there are a really lot of things you can get involved with if you really want to, which is great.

Man 1 - You can be as private as you want or a public as you want, there are a lot of local activities that bring together various ensembles.

Man 2 - I am looking forward to not mowing the lawns, looking forward to not cleaning the pool, I am certainly looking forward to living closer to the City, all of the amenities and walking down to the cafes and to the restaurants.

Woman 3 - Moving from a big home, not having to worry about the garden, to be able to step out the front door onto what’s arguably the most beautiful harbour in the world.

Man 3 - We are looking forward to just lock up and go ‘type of lifestyle’, we have had a house with a pool and the dog and the cat and the yard for a long long time, we are looking forward to having a bit of us time.

Man 4 - A new apartment, before that I have always rented things for the last 20 odd years, it is now time for a new one, it is just a new change, looking forward to it.

Man 6 - It gives you the flexibility to enjoy your weekends, rather than spend the time cleaning the house or mowing the lawns, it’s the lifestyle choice I think.

Man 5 - Everything is close by, it is a wonderful place to live and a wonderful place to invest.
