Are you ready to learn a new way to communicate a song?
In this lesson, we are going to learn the choralography performed by the 2016 Schools Spectacular Signing Choir and the 2016 Schools Spectacular Arena Choir to the song 'I Believe'.
Choralography is choreographed hand or arm movements that are performed by a choir while they are singing.
In this performance the choralography was inspired by basic Auslan signs combined with a showbiz flair!
Sign languages use hand shapes, movements and facial expression to communicate. It is primarily used to communicate with people who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
In Australia we use Auslan, which stands for Australian Sign Language. Auslan is uniquely Australian. Just like people in different countries speak different languages, people who are Deaf use different sign languages depending on where they come from.
To help you with this lesson, you will need:
a clear space to work safely
a device to watch videos.

You'll notice that the students from the Schools Spectacular Signing Choir are using Auslan in the performance.
Keep a watch out to see all the choir students performing the chorus of the song using Auslan inspired choralography!

Perform together with the Schools Spectacular Signing Choir and the Arena Choir to 'I Believe'.

Ask your teacher to record your class performance to share with other members of your school community
