Preparing young people for the changing nature of work has been recognised at a national level. In this week’s lessons Students will engage in relevant research, the essential knowledge, skills and values they will need for diverse pathways to lifelong learning, work and effective participation in the community.
Students will:
explore the businesses that are thriving during challenging times
recognise the difference between hard skills and soft skills
acknowledge the importance of skills to plan and prepare to thrive during challenging times
investigate roles/jobs which are important for maintaining the health of individuals and communities
consider what makes the health industry appealing
plan for and adopt the role of a personal trainer to apply soft skills to improve the health of those around them.
Outcome:
PD5-1 assesses their own and others’ capacity to reflect on and respond positively to challenges.
Students will build understanding of the current employment situation and explore the reasons why some businesses are thriving during challenging times and explore how young people can build and evolve the skills needed to safeguard their employment opportunities both now and in the future.
