In this lesson, we will consolidate all knowledge and data on wellbeing from the past 5 lessons and use this to write a short response to an essay question for wellbeing.
Watch the video for an introduction to the lesson.
You will be writing a short essay on the following question:
To what extent does where you live determine the amount of open space and wellbeing we have access to?
Before you begin writing, plan your response:
Think about the question – do you think that where you live determines the amount of open space and wellbeing we have access to?
How do you know this – think about statistics or data or articles that you have read that might support this.
Summarise your 2-3 big ideas.
Write the first draft of your essay using your planning to support you.
Essay question:
To what extent does where you live determine the amount of open space and wellbeing we have access to?
Ensure your body paragraphs follow the PEEL structure
After drafting your response, you should conduct a self-assessment and review. You can then edit your response before submitting it to your teacher. Download the self-assessment rubric below.
Write a list of arguments that support the idea that NSW has unequal access to green space and other important resources.
Don't forget to hand in the work you completed today!
Your teacher will have told you to do one of the following:
Upload any digital documents you created and any photos you took of your written work to your Learning Management system (MS Teams, Google Classroom for example).
Email any digital documents you created and any photos you took of your written work to your teacher.
Make sure you keep any hand written work you did in your exercise book or folder as your teacher may need to see these when you are back in class.
