Students will participate, experience and discover the need for physical activity in a variety of contexts. They will use reliable resources to draw conclusions about what they need to do to improve or maintain their current physical activity levels.
Learning intentions
During these lessons, students will:
identify suitable physical activities based on the context they are in
participate in suitable physical activity
log their physical activity and assess how they feel before, during and after
explore the long term impact of physical activity on the brain to promote their own positive mental health and wellbeing
analyse their levels of physical activity compared to the Australia’s Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines.
Success criteria for the overall sequence
Recognise and participate in appropriate physical activity for their context
Recognise and record the body’s response to physical activity
Investigate the relationship between their body’s response to physical activity and the long term health benefits.

Students will discover how physical activity impacts wellbeing, including your physical and mental health. This will allow you to reflect on how you can improve overall wellbeing.
