WPGHS Values: Multiculturalism & Inclusivity

In 1979, Wiley Park Girls High School showcased a profound commitment to embracing and celebrating the diverse tapestry of cultures that its students hailed from. We took immense pride in hosting a national dress day during Education Week, marking International Day with zeal. This wasn't just an event but a testament to the school's respect for its diverse student population, which spanned at least twenty-three distinct nationalities. By introducing traditional foods and encouraging students to don their cultural attires, we set the stage for genuine cultural exchange. Our quadrangle transformed into a global market with stalls offering national dishes, a vivid representation of our commitment to multiculturalism. Students revelled in the melodies and dances from different corners of the world, illustrating the school's ethos of respect, unity in diversity, and global awareness.

Fast forward to 2023, our dedication to cherishing our multicultural heritage hasn't waned. At Wiley Park Girls High School, we fervently believe in celebrating the myriad of cultures that our students and staff bring. Our multicultural day during Education Week was a radiant display of this sentiment. We welcomed everyone to proudly adorn their cultural clothing, turning our hallways into a vibrant collage of global traditions. This day wasn't just about clothing; it was about stories, histories, and the unique journeys each garment represented. The highlight was the Talent Quest, meticulously organized by our devoted SRCs. Here, students showcased their ancestral dances and songs, intertwining past and present, tradition and innovation. The mesmerizing performances stood as a testament to the school's enduring commitment to fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and, above all, celebrated.
