About Our Project

WPGHS Values: Creativity, Pride and Great Puns

This project - our entry for the My History, Your History, Our History Competition - was completed through the joint efforts of the WPGHS Media Team and students from the Year 10 History Elective 'Unlocking the Past' class. Here are their thoughts on our school's rich history and our submission:

This project started with the idea that Wiley Park girls carry around a different set of values than students at other schools, and by examining our historical artefacts it looks like that's always been the case. This evolved into the idea of the Wiley Park Value Pack - the things that we value that make us, US.

Luckily, we have primary sources from our school's opening in 1957 that helped us build our idea of WPGHS in the past. These sources have helped us understand how our school has grown and improved, connect with our history and feel like we really belong here. Even though it's very different now than in the past, it still has something special that makes it WPGHS, and that's what we tried to express in this project!
