With the release of Android 11, particularly on Google Pixel phones, users have reported difficulties in joining DETNSW Wi-Fi at schools and corporate offices.
To solve this problem. using your phone's 4G/5G connection, visit this webpage in your browser - https://T4L.link/detnswandroid or scan the QR code to go directly here on your phone.
Once at this page, expand and follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Visit this Google Drive share and choose the option to download the DOE-ROOT-CA.cer certificate file onto your Android device
Open your phone's Settings app.
Tap Network and Internet... Wi-Fi... Wi-Fi Preferences... Advanced... Install Certificates... Load from file system...
Find the location where you saved the DOE-ROOT-CA.cer certificate.
Tap the DOE-ROOT-CA.cer file.
Enter a name e.g. “DOE-ROOT-CA” for the certificate.
Tap OK.
Go to the Wireless settings to find and join the detnsw SSID
Along with the usual SSID settings for detnsw (see below), under CA certificate, choose DOE-ROOT-CA or whatever you named it.
Set Domain = detnsw.win
If you are an an Internet@Edge school, browse to http://detnsw.net and authenticate as normal
If you are a DoE proxy site, authenticate when prompted, as normal.
Internet access should now be available.
