We kicked off Term 3 with our Reading Retreat Day #2, celebrating our top book borrowers! These dedicated readers were rewarded with a fun and relaxing day in the library organised by our amazing Student Librarian Team. Together, they borrowed over 150 books in Term 3 alone — what an achievement!

Book Week 2025 was an incredible celebration of reading, creativity, and community across Liverpool High Schools. From vibrant costume parties and imaginative competitions to engaging author events and student-led activities, the week showcased the enthusiasm and talent of our students. The amazing dress ups, artistic displays, and collaborative spirit made this year’s Book Week one to remember. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it such a fantastic success.
Our top students book borrowers were treated to a special day in the library filled with creativity, fun, and well-deserved recognition. From writing their own stories and watching a movie, to colouring bookmarks, hunting for hidden books, and battling it out in a quiz game every moment was packed with energy and imagination. It was a wonderful experience that celebrated the joy of reading and rewarded students for their curiosity and commitment.
Yes, you heard it right, we want students to return your borrowed books to have your name printed out for a raffle draw. Best of luck to the prize winners.
Student Librarian Excursion to the State Library of NSW 16/06/25
In Week 8, our Student Librarians had the opportunity to visit the iconic State Library of New South Wales. From its stunning architecture to its rich history and incredible collections, the visit was both inspiring and informative. The team explored the exhibitions, took in the grandeur of the reading rooms, and reflected on the important role libraries play in preserving knowledge and culture. We returned with fresh ideas, renewed motivation, and an even greater sense of pride in our own library work.
For National Reconciliation Week 2025, our Student Librarian Team led a series of powerful and reflective activities in the library.
From handprint messages and scratch cards to an informative mood board and a screening of Rabbit Proof Fence, students engaged in meaningful conversations about reconciliation and respect.
We’re proud of our library leaders for creating such a thoughtful and inclusive space.
These students have achieved gold status by reading 30 books in 2024.
Congratulations!

A huge shout-out to our Student Librarian Events Team for planning and running such a thoughtful and engaging event. Your enthusiasm, organisation, and teamwork made it truly special!
Our Induction Day was designed to welcome and prepare new Student Librarians for their roles. Through team-building, hands-on training, and collaborative workshops, students gain the skills and confidence to contribute to a dynamic, student-led library environment.
It was a huge success. It was incredible to see students from across year groups working together, taking initiative, and showing real leadership. This day marked an exciting step forward in shaping our merged library and future school—a space where student voice and collaboration are at the centre.
