The Past and Present Family Life topic is divided into three units; Past, Present and Future, Family Life and Then and Now. Within these units, students investigate the past and learn about the terms that describe the passage of time. They look at dates and times that are significant to them. Family roles are investigated and similarities and differences between generations are explored. The historical skills and concepts of comprehension, analysis of sources, significance, continuity and change, perspectives, empathetic understanding, explanation and communication, chronology and sequencing are addressed throughout this topic.
