Kalkari Discovery Centre is located in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. It is a place where visitors can learn about the plants and animals located in the National Park and is operated by volunteers. It is a special location with amazing views over Bobbin Head and Cockle Creek which stretch far and wide.
The Birrawanna Track is a down hill walk of approximately 2.5 kilometres taking you directly to Bobbin Head picnic area. The track starts at Kalkari Discovery Centre and crosses the ridge, it branches out so you can either go directly to Bobbin Head or to the National Park Office. The track winds down to Bobbin Head through scribbly gum woodlands and ferns with amazing changes in the geography as you descend to Bobbin Head.
