Subject Selection information for 2026 / 2027 is now live!
All year groups are involved in the BYOD program
Rationale:
At Francis Greenway High School, we value the learning experiences and opportunities that technology can provide. The promotion of all forms of learning is core to our educational philosophy. Embedded in our school’s Strategic Plan are values that focus on differentiated learning activities that are connected in a purposeful way to students’ future needs and real-world applications.
By facilitating BYOD, Francis Greenway High School empowers our students, giving them direct involvement in the way technology is used in their learning. We seek to develop future-focused skills in all of our students.
The school recognises that the implementation of BYOD at our school inherently imposes a financial cost on students and their families for the purchase of a device. This cost occurs in all BYOD schools. Where possible, we will provide short-term loan devices to students while their families make arrangements for the purchase/lease of their own device. If you have any enquiries regarding BYOD please contact the school.
Further information regarding the program, device requirements, and short-term loan devices can be found in the 2025 Student use of Digital Devices (BYOD) and Online Services Procedure (available below).
Recommonded minimum device specifcations can be found on page 7.
Harvey Norman Maitland has been supporting Francis Greenway High School with its BYOD program for the last 5 years. They have recommended devices to meet the school's device requirements, which can be accessed via the QR code below. All the devices displayed on the portal site are available to view at Harvey Norman Maitland.
