We're using the compass to get the direction we're going to walk before we put the quadrat down. The compass has 360 degrees around the outside. So we're going to use the numbers zero to 360 to get a random number that'll tell us a direction to walk in.
Now we need to get the number of steps that we're going to walk in. So we'll use the number generator again and get a number between one and five.
Okay now we've got to line up the compass to face north. Make sure all the letters are matching the right directions. And our first direction is 145 degrees. So we need find that on the dial of the compass and walk in that direction. So we need to walk one step behind. One step. And we need to walk one step. So this is where we're going to put our quadrat and it needs to be facing north because we want consistency.
