Biodiversity

Sustainability action process

'Biodiversity' means 'variety of living things'.

Many local natural environments have been altered. This results in loss of species diversity and changes to the natural balance.

We can take a range of actions to improve the biodiversity in our school grounds and local environment.

Sustainability action process

The sustainability action process provides a scaffold for teachers and students to investigate real issues and needs. It supports authentic problem solving through active student participation.

The sustainability action process has five steps:

  • make the case for change
  • explore options for action
  • develop the proposal for action
  • implement the proposal for action
  • reflect and evaluate.
