AHS TAS Faculty

This site is an overview of the subjects offered by the Ambarvale High School TAS Faculty. It provides a snapshot of some of the student projects and activities. There are also links to short videos to:

  • explain what is involved in a subject
  • showcase sample student major projects from across the state
  • provide information on some careers that link to our subjects.

Any detailed subject information questions need to to be directed to the relevant Faculty staff as outlined in the Subject Selection handbooks.

Please note that this site is under update as there are new syllabus ' in place for Stage 4 and 5 courses.

The TAS Faculty have many specialised learning spaces including:

  • Commercial Kitchen (industrial appliances)
  • Junior Food Kitchen (domestic appliances)
  • Metal workshop, lathe and welding areas
  • Four wood workshops including a wood lathe bay
  • Three computer rooms

There are also WHS requirements that must be followed in all learning spaces. These include:

  • wearing closed in leather shoes and aprons
  • wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the teacher eg: safety glasses, ear protection, dust masks, welding goggles, leather aprons (for welding)
