Through this learning sequence, student will explore how connection and belonging impacts the health and wellbeing of individuals, particularly during a global health issue such as COVID-19.
Students will explore how goal setting and participating in regular physical activity can support and empower individuals to take charge of their own, and support others health and wellbeing both now and in the future when a global health challenge could be experienced in the future.
Learning intentions
During these lessons, students will:
discuss connection and belonging and their impacts on the health and wellbeing of individuals.
analyse the significant role that movement opportunities can play in supporting you and our overall population in working towards, and remaining healthy, well and connected
plan for increased physical activity.

Recognise the importance of connection and belonging for the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
Create and participate in a physical activity challenge.
Set goals to increase physical activity levels.
Identify the value of movement by reflecting on your journey with an exercise buddy or group.

Students will explore connection and belonging and the impacts on the health and wellbeing of individuals. Gaining knowledge and understanding of how to foster connectedness and a sense of belonging can improve an individual’s health and wellbeing.

Students will explore physical activity and how it can impact an individual’s health and wellbeing during a global health crisis. They will consider COVID-19 and how physical activity participation is relative to an individual’s context.
Students will investigate significant role that movement opportunities can play in supporting them and our overall population in working towards, and remaining healthy, well and connected.

PD4-10 applies and refines interpersonal skills to assist themselves and others to interact respectfully and promote inclusion in a variety of groups or contexts
Students will identify physical activity goals to improve the health and wellbeing of yourself and others. They will set some physical activity goals and invite another person to participate with them. Students will consider individual and environmental contextual factors as they plan. They will identify the value of movement by reflecting on their journey with an exercise buddy or group.
