In this sequence, students will create a job wish list. They will choose and research one job from their wish list and research what is required to be suited for that role. Students will reflect on what they have and need to do from now until applying for a job. They will draw a roadmap outlining the various pathways taken towards their wish list job. And use soft skills to create an introductory submission video for an employer to apply for a job.
During these lessons students will:
create a wish list of jobs and select one job or opportunity to earn income to focus on
access reliable sources to research the hard skills, soft skills and qualifications required for a selected job
create a road map to outline the various pathways and requirements to work towards a selected job
identify needs and goals to offer a head start towards getting a selected job.
complete a digital identity audit to make judgements on how an online identity can be viewed by others
build an understanding of digital reputation
take steps to protect their online identity
create a 1 – 3 min introductory submission video for future employers
build an understanding of the importance of first impressions.

Students will use understanding from previous weeks to create a job wish list. Students will choose a job from the wish list and identify the various pathways to the job to create a roadmap of how to get there.

Students will explore how an online identity can become a digital resume. They will investigate ways to protect an online identity and explore how an online presence can be a barrier or an enabler to the road map just created.

Student will create an introductory submission video for one of the jobs on their wish list. This is will present students with a way of preparing them to connect with their future employer.
