In this lesson, students will learn about the major aspects of Australian women’s experiences of World War I. They will examine sources to identify the dangers that existed for nurses, as well as consider the pros and cons of nursing during World War 1. Students will reflect on what each source reveals about the roles of women in the war and think about a question each source raises and where they may find an answer to that question. Finally, students will develop an understanding the role of women on the home front and write a summary of the contributions of women at war and at home.
