This year, our school community has achieved so much. We’ve focused strongly on building vocabulary and strengthening reading, writing, and numeracy skills, with students demonstrating impressive growth and achievement in these areas. This reflects the dedication of our staff, as well as the hard work of every student.
Several highlights stand out for me. The Garden Club, revived this year by Mrs Barr, gave students the chance to learn about caring for the environment. Creative programs like the Alpha Show and Musica Viva inspired our imaginations, while events like Pulse Deniliquin showcased our commitment to inclusion, with students performing in both Auslan and music.
Our local wildlife drawings were transformed into a Bpangerang Garden art installation—a living reminder of our connection to Country, and we look forward to adding more using the local language next year.
Community involvement has been a strong theme. Book Week and the Teddy Bears Picnic—held with Mulwala Preschool—brought joy and strengthened our community bonds. Sporting events, including whole school games and inclusive activities like bocce, helped develop teamwork and leadership among our students. Our Lifesaving Education Program was a highlight, building important water safety skills.
Students have excelled in spelling bees, public speaking challenges, and the High Potential Maths program. Our community spirit was evident at events like Remembrance Day, the Many Mobs Connection Bridge Walk, and fundraising for Moira Foodshare.
Looking ahead, I’m pleased to announce major refurbishments over summer, with refreshed classrooms, office, and playground areas ready for next year.
I’d like to thank our dedicated staff, wonderful families, and the P&C for your ongoing support—and to our students, your energy and enthusiasm make this school special.
Next term, while I am on leave, Emma Quinn will be relieving principal. Emma’s strong leadership and experience will ensure a smooth start to 2026.
I wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday. Thank you.

In art, we drew fish. We learnt about lines and colour. I liked going to the solar farm. We planted trees and protected them with our decorated tree guards. I enjoyed listening to Three Eggs and Ham in the library. My favourite activity in maths was collecting data. We chose our favourite ice cream flavour.

I enjoyed playing cricket and t-ball for sport. I liked listening to Christmas books in the library. In English, we read my favourite book, The Hairy One and Insects by Wendy Notley. I liked making a collage of bugs in art with other students. We always enjoy going on the bus for our excursions. We went to the pool for our swimming carnival in Term 1 and for swimming lessons in Term 4. We also joined the NAIDOC Week bridge walk. My favourite excursion was to Oaklands Central School to watch King Arthur.

Our year has already finished. English, Maths, HSIE and Science have taught us many skills with some of our favourites being perfecting our skills on Canva to show our work. Mr Elliott taught us for Term 2 and we loved having him in our classroom.
We all agree that Future Academy is still our favourite part of the week! And sport of course. We got to learn and improve new skills in a range of games like soccer, softball, hockey, volleyball, cricket and basketball. Our sporting days bring lots of friendly competition. Cross country was really pretty this year as we got to run around the Yarrawonga Yacht Club. The swimming carnival and athletics carnival gave us a chance to show how much we have improved since last year with lots of us going on to compete at higher levels which is always very exciting.

Of course school isn't just about learning. As usual one of our favourite activities was our excursion to Beechworth. The Ned Kelly animatronic and the honey shop were two of our favourite activities, after the lolly shop that is. We have also had our Halloween disco, Footy Colours Day, CWA day, Easter Hat activities, Science Day, colour fun run and another favourite day is Book Week parade. This year we also travelled to Deniliquin for three days to participate in Pulse. It was a very busy three days but I loved it when I got to perform in front of all the parents.

Nungara highlights
One of Nungara's highlights of this year was the Beechworth camp. We went to an animatronic show at Glenrowan, the honey shop, lolly shop, Ned Kelly statue and old gaol.
Lylah and I got to participate in a HPGE Maths project where we used maths skills to make a presentation and build a prototype of a water tank.
We wrote hybrid poems with Mrs Barr and got to include images and we had to think carefully about how the written words were presented. I wrote about the city.
Year 5/6 students also went to a Health presentation at Corowa South Public School.

In 2025 we have done a lot of fun things. Everyone obviously enjoyed sport - playing lots of fun games as well as Monday sports run by Sadie and Keisha (our Sports Captains).
Other people also enjoyed the netball knockout. The people who went were myself, Lylah, Grace, Jack, Sadie, Poppy, Harper and Skyla. Even though we didn't make it to the next level, we all tried our hardest and it was really fun.
Some of our class were looking forward to doing the soccer knock out but it was unfortunately canceled because lots of people were sick. Another fun thing we did was Pulse in Deniliquin. It was really fun because we got to perform on stage with students from other schools.
Congratulations to Poppy and Xander for getting School Captains for 2026 and for Tilly and Esther being Vice captains and Arloh and Harper for school leaders.

Bobinawarrah highlights
For the last 2 weeks we did lots of swimming and water safety and it was lots of fun. This week on Monday and Tuesday we made christmas cards doing directed drawings and on Canva.
In fitness we have been playing kickball and other sports. I liked the 4 wicket cricket games. In Art we have been doing the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is you take photos.
We have a new teacher, Mrs Stratton and over the year the Bobinawarrah class has grown from 4 to 6 students.
In Science, we did experiments growing snow peas from seeds, learning how they need sunshine and water. We went to the new Solar Farm at Savernake and learnt about how the electricity panels will power up a very large area. We planted trees and grasses at the farm . We were given fruit and xmas presents each before we came home.
A Musica Viva group of 4 musicians came to our school to perform playing stringed instruments, and we were able to join in.

Remembrance Day is when we have a meeting at ClubMulwala and remember about the people in the war where we sang and signed our National Anthem.
In Future Academy we have played a lot of games where we have been learning to selfumpire. The best games were whole school hunter, tail tag and capture the flag.
Back in February we had the swimming carnival and our two house teams raced against each other.
Last week we went to the Mulwala Water Ski Club with other schools to sing Carols by the Lake. Our school sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Jingle Bells.
