The main direction of our research interests is focused on the study of molecular and informational transfer in cell-cell communications, on the search for ways to control the process and on applying it to the treatment of pathologies of different genesis.
The field of our research has been changing with the development of knowledge and understanding of the interaction between cells within the body. One of the stages of our studies was dedicated to developing a methodology for gene- and gene/cellular therapy using the technology of recombinant molecules. At the same time, we have studied the possibility of applying different signal molecules to control the tissue restoration processes. Moreover, having substantive experience in developing technologies for the production and purification of recombinant proteins, we have provided our research with most of the necessary cytokines, growth factors and monoclonal antibodies, creating appropriate bacterial strains superproducers of recombinant proteins and developing technologies for the purification of target products. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have become the main object of our studies since 2000. MSCs by, their biological role, are signalling and control system at the same time. They have the ability to adapt to pathological microenvironments to provide protective and restorative functions in the diseased organism.
