PROJECT TITLE: EDSCIYAHAN Peryahan sa EDSCI

Project Description

• This platform envisions a fun fair for all sophians and staff to create bonds with each other but still become pro active members of the community by giving service to other people. A fun fair will be held inside the school and all funds that will be gathered in the fair will be donated for learning materials and given to non government organizations that help children who cannot afford to study.

Rationale

• To serve as a platform for all Sophians and staff to be involved in community service by participating in donations to Children Organizations outside the school.

• To give an activity for which all students can share bonds with each other and have a break in heavy workloads.

• To give the organizations inside the school a platform to collaborate with each other and come up with an exciting activity.

Mechanism

• The fun fair will only be held on foundation week. The court will be utilized as the center of the fun fair. During this week, the school will be filled with fun activities that are open for all students and staff.

• Inside the court, there will be activities that are inspired from the games inside a “peryahan” (Ex. color game, hula hoop, etc.). Each organization is tasked to think of an activity. Then, those who wish to participate in the activity will have to give an amount of coins to enter.

• All the gathered funds will be used to buy children books and school supplies. Then, it will be donated to non government organizations that help children who cannot afford to study.

PROJECT TITLE: Balitang EDSCI

Project Description

• This platform aims to give information to all Sophians by giving them updates regarding the school activities and further strengthen how information is being relayed by utilizing the EDSCI SSG page. Further, this aims to know the opinions of all students through ambush interviews which will be then posted to the EDSCI SSG page for the whole community to see. Inside this platform are two programs that should be conducted:

  • Balitang EDSCI: Green Knights Update (For official updates and compilation of school activities) - A platform that will give focus on informing the students about the school activities that were conducted and upcoming events.

Rationale

• To further strengthen the awareness of all Sophians regarding the upcoming events of the school.

• To give a platform for aspiring journalists and news anchors to serve the students credible information.

Mechanism

• After a monthly celebration (Buwan ng Wika, English Month, etc.), the EDSCI SSG is tasked to create a post containing behind the scenes pictures of the activities. This will be posted to share to all sophians how the events are being conducted and for parents to know more about the inside activities of the school.

• The EDSCI SSG will also post a poster that will include the upcoming events to be celebrated. This will make the students look forward to these activities and lessen the stress of searching for participants in the classroom.

• By the end of the year, a newspaper will be released containing the successful school activities written by Paladin Society and EDSCI SSG.

• Balitang EDSCI: Ambush Interviews (For humorous interviews and news skits that aim to know more about the feelings of the Sophians by asking them certain questions about the upcoming activities of the school).

Rationale

• To serve as a fun activity for all the strands where they will be given the chance to act as a news anchor that will enhance their skills in speaking.

• To give a platform for all Sophians to express themselves while having a light atmosphere where they can freely give their insights.

• To know the genuine reactions of the students regarding a specific topic which is why only ambush interviews will be conducted.

Mechanism

• For the SHS level, there would be a chosen news anchor which will be voted by their classmates. The chosen news anchor will be the one to represent their class. As per the JHS level, there would be representatives to become the interviewers/news anchor.

• After a class, the chosen representatives will do the ambush interview to some of the students with specific questions prepared beforehand.

• The interviews will be posted in the EDSCI SSG page after being checked by the coordinators.
