MAIN PLATFORM :
Goal:
- The goal of this platform is to help those in need, particularly those living in slums, those affected by typhoons, and those who live in impoverished areas, or those who truly need help but have been completely disregarded. It is a social service program, a program to aid socioeconomically disadvantaged communities in bringing solutions to create a viable and sustainable community. We will hold a donation drive, accepting clothing, educational supplies, food, and money, and then donate them to various organizations and assist them in distributing them. Everyone is welcome to donate basic necessities for us to donate.
Description:
- Everything we will give comes from students or other people; anyone is welcome to contribute; all they need to do is sign up and specify that they will be donating on this day in order for the SSG Officers to assist them. Students and others must sign up in a Google form and schedule an appointment for the day they will be donating so that the SSG Officers and the school can assist them. Then we'll collaborate with some organizations or the city hall to donate this to them. And, if possible, we could assist the authorities in distributing food and clothing. At the same time, if we have a location provided by some organizations, we can also have a program where we will be teaching some children who are unable to study due to financial constraints. We could also include this in the proceeds from our fundraising events, which will be used to donate to charities.
SIDE PLATFORM
Goal:
- The goal of this platform is to have monthly postings, and the content in each posting will be different as we try different concepts and topics. Postings can be about mental health, anti-discrimination, interesting trivia, environmental awareness, or other social issues. The purpose of the project is to inform Sophians, raise awareness, and educate people.
Description:
- Every month, 2 to 3 officers will be assigned to post on our SSG Page. We can have posts about mental health, such as depression and suicide prevention, validating statements, encouraging words, and other exercises to help our psychological and physiological function. We also have other issues, such as environmental awareness, such as preventing pollution, being environmentally friendly, and so on. So, basically, our postings are more focused on aligning on what are the relevant issues to inform Sophians and spread awareness to social media platforms that Sophians use. (This could be done in collaboration with some departments from the Social Science Society.)
