I am the mother of a beautiful 19-year-old daughter named Kyera. I am a transplant from Louisiana. I moved to Texas in August 2017. I started my teaching career at Good Hope Middle School in West Monroe, Louisiana. During my 7 years tenure at GHMS, I taught keyboarding, computer applications, American History, math lab, and started a school news station named after our mascot, Colonel News Network or CNN for short. I was named Region 10 Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators Teacher of the Year in December 2009 and Good Hope Middle School Teacher of the Year 2010. My CNN team won 1st place at the R-Squared Film Festival for our short film “The Dream Girl” in May 2011. I transitioned to an administrator in 2011. I served as an Assistant Principal for the Avoyelles Parish School Board for 6 years. I served 1 year at Avoyelles High School and 5 years at Marksville High School. When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, and crocheting.
