I am very excited to start my second full year here at The Woodlands Classical Academy. After spending 30 years in the engineering field, I'm convinced this new vocation is my purpose and life's "calling". Although I'm relatively new to school teaching, my experience leading children started long ago: I've coached little league baseball and been involved with church youth classes for several years. I am married and have two wonderful teenage children - my most fulfilling teaching experience. I'm a native Texan and graduated from Texas A&M University...a long time ago. My hobbies? What are those? When I can, I still enjoy motor-sports, hunting, fishing, woodworking - just about anything outdoors.
I love math, but, I know most children (and adults) don't share my enthusiasm. So, I always strive to manage mathematics class in a way that keeps students engaged, having fun and wanting to learn. We will use hands-on lessons, real-world examples, movement, teamwork, and humor as much as possible. At the end of this school year, I want your child to be equipped for their future math classes and to be able to answer that perpetual question: "Will I ever use this stuff again?". Additionally, I want them to yearn-to-learn and to use their new math tools to be life-long problem solvers. It's going to be a great year.
