My name is Kate Rentsch and I teach 1st grade here at Woodlands Classical Academy. This year will be my 8th year of teaching. I've taught both Kindergarten and 1st grade, and I also have international teaching experience in South Africa. I have been at Woodlands Classical for 4 years now and I love teaching here!
I grew up in Michigan. I went to Michigan State University (GO GREEN!) where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Math. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Andrew for 7 years. We have one “fur baby” - our golden retriever named Barley. We are travel enthusiasts and have enjoyed many wonderful trips around the globe - my favorite places to visit being Italy, Thailand, and South Africa. We bought our first house here in The Woodlands several years ago and have been enjoying renovating it, DIY-style, over the past few years.
The most important thing for you to know about me is that I truly LOVE teaching. I believe in meeting each child where they're at to help them grow and reach their full potential. It is such an honor to be entrusted with my students' minds and hearts each day, and I don't take the responsibility lightly. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year with another great bunch of WCA first graders!
