I'm a baby-boomer born in Houston, the only girl in the middle of 4 brothers. Growing up I loved to read. I read all the Nancy Drew mysteries in my elementary school library and when they ran out, most of the Hardy Boy mysteries. I still read a lot but have switched to an e-reader. (I'm on my third Kindle.) My mom taught me to sew. (She made all my dresses up to the age of 12.) I made my own wedding dress but had no daughters to sew for. However, with two sons I had a lot of fun every Halloween making their costumes and I did the same for my two grandchildren.
I've been married for 48 years to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest son has a daughter who is 13 and a son who is 7. Our youngest son has been married only a year and a half, no kids so far. We have a ten-year old Boston Terrier named Zoey that snores, does tricks and reminds us at 5:30 every day that it's time for supper.
My husband and I own a 1967 Chevy Nova station wagon which we drive to Gulfport Mississippi every October for "Crusin' The Coast". Check it out: https://cruisinthecoast.com
We've participated in The Woodlands Fourth of July parade with the car a few times also.
I've had a variety of jobs starting in high school when I took Distributive Education. (School in the morning and work after lunch.) Over the last 50 years I've worked in an insurance office, sold titanium, obtained records for lawsuits and cared for babies in a daycare. I've retired twice but so far it hasn't stuck. When I got a chance to work at TWCA I didn't hesitate to take it but when my hubby finally retires, I just might have to say goodbye to the school and join him.
