Tenure Portfolio
Welcome and thank you for taking time to review my tenure portfolio!
Please take a minute (0:57) to watch this video overview regarding this portfolio.
As you explore my portfolio, I want you to share experiences with my students, so I have developed this portfolio as an interactive peek into my classes. You will be able to view lessons and interact with the courses through this portfolio as if you too were in my class. To get the best experience I recommend following the suggested website navigation tips below.
But first, scroll through the pictures to the left to step into my classes and see some of my students at work.
To navigate this site, the blue buttons on each page will take you to the page on the site indicated. You can also use the banner on top of each page, by using the pull down menu to navigate to the individual pages as well.
There are blue underlined links and buttons throughout each page that allow you to explore additional documents, videos, or websites (some may also be external websites) by clicking on the blue descriptive links. Occasionally there are embedded videos to introduce you to supplemental information in the page and you can also read about the content on each page as well. All videos are closed captioned and can be viewed with captions by selecting the CC icon.
The pages are divided up into four major sections each with sub-pages with more detail and information connecting the larger picture. Begin each major section at the top, where you will find an introductory video (like the welcome video on this page) to introduce you to the section you are about to explore. These major sections of the portfolio include:
Getting to Know Me: In this section, take an interactive journey to learn more about me professionally and personally. I invite you to review my curriculum vitae which includes details of my education, my teaching experience, my prior research and publications, my community involvement, and my faculty professional development over the past three years. I also encourage you to read my personal statement and self-reflections to gain a deeper insight into my journey and the lens in which I view myself as an instructor.
Teaching Dossier: In this section, I invite you to learn more about my teaching philosophy and explore specific examples of my instruction. This philosophy is a guiding force in my development of curriculum, pedagogy implementation and instruction, classroom community, and assessment strategies to teach students not only anatomy & physiology content, but also empowering a growth-mindset for my students' achievement.
Collaboration and Community: In this section, see the impacts I have had over the past three years supporting students through club and mentoring, collaborating with the biology department, and as a member of the Edmonds College community.
Statements of Support: In this section, hear from students, colleagues, and collaborators about my involvement in supporting student success, as a member of the biology department, and in my interactions with a variety of staff, faculty, and administration to facilitate the mission, themes, values and goals of Edmonds College.
