Sara Powell was a sweet, friendly, Southern lady who believed in working hard at whatever she did. Her work ethic was truly stronger than most and that beautiful southern belle had a streak of determination that would rival many.
Over 40 years ago she used that work ethic and determination and opened a roadside market to sell fresh peaches and produce. She always said that one of her secrets to success was to make sure the products sold were the very best quality. That little roadside market continued to grow over the years and became an icon for travelers and their families as they headed off for summer vacations.
Mrs. Sara, as she was known to the many high school and college age students who spent summers working at Sara’s in Trenton, always meant business when it came to their work at the stand and she expected her employees to do the same. Not only did she expect them to give 100% effort, but she expected them to greet each customer with a smile, carry their bags to their cars and to make each one feel special.
Mrs. Sara loved her customers and she greeted them with "Ya'll come around and make yourself at home". Her glowing smile and warm presence will live forever at Sara's Roadside Stand. Mrs. Powell passed away on December 22, 2017. To honor her memory, her work ethic, and the genuine impact she had on so many local students, Titan Farms has founded the Sara Powell Memorial Scholarship. Please find attached the application form for our scholarship. Please return by March 28, 2025 , to Titan Farms Attn: Karisa D.
