Welcome Back!

A big welcome back to our fabulous Evatt community for an exciting term 3!

A reminder to keep up to date with our communication through Seesaw and Facebook as the term progresses.

Remember that we value your feedback so drop in or share an email if need be.

Adults Coming Into School

As we welcome everyone back for a fantastic Term 3, we ask all adult visitors to our public schools to use the Check In CBR app to ensure quick and efficient tracing in case of a COVID outbreak.

This means if you leave your car when dropping off the kids, or you walk them into the playground, please locate a QR code and check in.

For more details visit:

And remember - if you’ve travelled interstate during the holidays check the ACT Government’s COVID-19 website and follow all health advice and requirements.

Sick Students

As we have shared throughout the past 18 months, it is still really important to keep your child at home if they are at all unwell. As well as this please take them to a doctor and get a COVID test. We all have a responsibility to keep doing great things as a community and you playing your part will help with this.

If your child does present to school sick, we will be making contact and our expectation is that you come and collect them straight away.

For more information on COVID, symptoms, and testing, visit the ACT health website.

Athletics Carnival

We are all very much looking forward to our school Athletics Carnival next Thursday 22/07/21. This will be held at the Charnwood District Playing Fields. Parents and carers are welcome to come along on the day.

Please make sure you pack warm clothes for your child(ren) for the day. A big thank you to Ben Sterland and his team for the coordination of this carnival.

A reminder to check in using the CBR check in app on arrival.

What's on In The Nest

A reminder The Nest is open before school every morning for a coffee or hot drink. We love seeing the families that are able to come and in, have a coffee and read a book with their child(ren).

We are very excited to be running ‘Loose Parts Play’ in partnership with The University of Canberra for 2 - 4 year olds this term which will be every Tuesday morning just after 9am. We encourage families to come in for this. This program ties in nicely with the very popular ‘Giggle and Wiggle’ that runs every Thursday morning by Libraries ACT.

Please contact the school on 6142 1640 if you have any questions about these programs.

P&C News

Canteen open two days a week from week 3

From week 3 onwards, the canteen will be open on Thursdays and Fridays at B1 and B2 for lunch orders and counter sales.

Online orders through school24 will close at 8am each canteen day.

P&C meeting

The P&C will be meeting on Wednesday 28 July at 5.45 pm in The Nest.

The SSIT met this week to discuss the value of fundraising and the impact our school can have on our community. They brainstormed ideas for fundraisers the school can hold and where to direct funds that have been raised.

They decided to hold a Pyjama day, and a spider stall on 3 August (Tuesday W4).

  • Students may wear appropriate pyjamas to school and give a gold coin donation.

  • Spiders will be for sale at B1:

    • $1 for a small spider

    • $2 for a large spider

  • Funds will be donated to the eagle sanctuary where Spirit and Aquila our adopted eagles live.

Can't wait to see you all in your pyjamas!
