Information for teachers

Teachers can integrate the project to align with their teaching program. Further information about the initiative can be found on the information page.

Each Thursday, a writing prompt will be shared on the prompts page along with exemplar submissions made by local Canberrans.

Teachers can provide the prompt to students and families using their chosen communication platform (Google Classroom, Seesaw etc.) and collect and submit responses on their behalf using the teacher submission form. There are templates available in the resource section of this page and these will be updated regularly to coincide with the prompts.

Alternatively, students can be directed to write directly into the online submission form to forward their submission independently.

It is okay if a submission is submitted independently by a student and also by their teacher. Responses will be collated by the Education Directorate.

If making submissions on behalf of students, students should be given the option to opt out of their response being submitted.
